Steve Timmermans is the owner of SilvaTerra Regenerative AgroEcosystems consulting, and SilvaTerra Farms.
Steve works primarily with rural landowner clients to evaluate their landscapes, hydrological systems, habitats, and individual needs to help design and establish agroecological systems and lifestyles.
At SilvaTerra Farms, Steve maintains nurseries of select cultivars and preferred wild varieties of trees for outplanting at SilvaTerra Farms and for local sales to others.
Steve also owns and operates EverWoods, which is a vertically integrated log salvaging, live edge and specialty woods sawmilling, and custom furniture design and production business that shares SilvaTerra’s holistic goal and values. Steve is developing a series of workshops to teach people how and why they work from ‘tree-to-log-to-slab-to-table’ across SilvaTerra’s and EverWoods’ operations seamlessly.
Steve is educated as a Fish and Wildlife Technologist, graduating from Sir Sandford Fleming College School of Natural Resources. He earned his Honours Bachelor of Science in Zoology, and Masters of Science degree with University of Western Ontario’s Ecology and Evolution Group. Steve’s previous career specialized in waterbird and wetland monitoring, assessment and research in the Great Lakes and sub-arctic Canada.
Steve currently focuses on dendrology/silviculture, custom sawmilling, specialty wood supplies and furniture design and creation, and regenerative agroecosystem planning, establishment and consulting primarily in riparian landscape contexts.
Steve led the organization and co-hosting of a very successful Regrarians® RAC in his region of southwestern Ontario in 2013 and has been an active and thorough contributor to the Regrarians® Network forum ever since.
